New site theme - watercircles

  • July 21, 2009
  • James Skemp
Based on metamorph_watercircles, and converted for use with BlogEngine.NET, watercircles is now in use on my site. The theme has a deal of special inline modifications for my own particular purposes, so it's not generally available for BlogEngine.NET users, but if you're interested ... Comments welcome. (I'm sure I'll find things I missed as the weeks go by, but any findings are appreciated.)

List of TODOs for July 2009

  • James Skemp
I may get to some of these early, but here's a listing of things that I'd like to get done in July 2009. For the most part, they are technical things. Speed-up my iTunes Playlists to Xml application. To a very large extent, I consider myself to be a gamer. Around the time the NES came out, my family picked up an Atari 2600, used. At a later point we picked up an NES, via my dad, and then my mom bought us a SNES.

Resolutions - 28

I don't really believe in making New Year's resolutions, since it's something people do, knowing that they're going to fail at. In my opinion. So, for my 28th, I'm doing something a little different, in that I'm declaring that I will continue to do what I've been doing, for a couple of key items. No more soda I've been off soda for a couple of months, and before that I was down to just one-ish a day.

jQuery: Query an Xml document and output data

  • May 3, 2009
  • James Skemp
I back-dated my first piece of jQuery code, but have decided not to with my second. Anyways, I had a hard time finding code, written in jQuery, to pull data from an Xml file and add it to a page. Combining a couple of tutorials online, I created the following (on April 27). This was for a message, so I started out with the Xml file, creating something like this:
