Review: APC Back-UPS ES 750 (BE750G)

Every home should have one I purchased an APC Back-UPS ES 750 (BE750G) on May 10, 2008. Since I had a blackout on 6/27, I figured I could finally write a review. First, this is my first APC, as well as my first battery backup, product. I've owned a number of surge protectors in the past, but since I had purchased a new computer, I wanted to try a backup device.

There's a number of resources online on how to change the default language in Visual Studio. However, none of them are correct. They all state that you should reset your settings to default and then re-setup your settings. Huh? Instead, if you modify the CurrentSettings.vssettings file, you can keep all your other settings, without the pain of having to re-import everything else. First, find your settings file, which appears to default to the My Documents\Visual Studio x\Settings\ directory.

Read my review of Beginning ASP.NET 3.5: In C# and VB. Some errata for 978-0-470-18757-9, Professional ASP.NET 3.5 In C# and VB: pg 247, second to last sentence on the page: <h3> should be <h1>. pg 253: Figure 5-13 is incorrect. pg 487: Figure 9-12 is incorrect. pg 527, second to last sentence on the page: Listing 10-13 contains no highlighted text. I was expecting more errata to be listed.

The no checkout thing is weird. Had someone else (a Mac user) not a) told me about the process and b) told me about the store location, I would c) made the purchase online instead, and not gotten exactly what I think I want (/known about my other options) and d) would have been utterly confused about the checkout process :) But, the two people I spoke with while checking out were extremely friendly, and I was amazed by the quality of the store.

The following review is for The Complete Official Guide of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. The short story: If you're new to MG, BUY THIS BOOK. If you want to completely* understand this game, BUY THIS BOOK. If you want to have a book that you can be glad you spent every penny for, BUY THIS BOOK. :D MGS4 is my first experience with the entire Metal Gear 'saga.

So Disk Management can't be found using the Vista Start Search. However, you can type in Computer Management, and get to Disk Management from there. From what I was reading online, as long as the BIOS sees the drive, Windows should have popped up a message asking about formatting it. Too bad you have to go through this extra step - it would have been nice to have at least seen a small pop-up regarding this.

We've been running into an issue, off and on, with ColdFusion MX 7.0.2 having issues with Verity collections. During one of our nightly jobs, two Verity collections are purged, through ColdFusion, and then re-built. Sometimes this will bring the collection down, resulting in a message like the following. Collection down after opening (10) Using the mdvdk executable, you can get some information about the collection, and even bring it back up.

In XML creation: Part 1, I went about creating an XML document, with both a CSS and XSLT, that was used to store my video game information. Yesterday I was going through my domains, and realized that it would be pretty helpful to have an XML document where I could store domain name information, since I've got too many to keep track of in my head. AVG is a pretty good piece of anti-virus software. However, as was recently noticed, it's Link Scanner functionality can be, and is, quite the resource hog. When running the installation program, it's possible to pass parameters to disable this functionality. However, there's no complete listing of parameters on the site. In an attempt to make this information easier to find, I include it below. installation without Web Shield avg_*.exe /REMOVE_FEATURE fea_AVG_HttpScanner
