On Yahoo! Slurp, Googlebot, and msnbot

Being able to look at the statistics for a couple of different sites, with very different audiences, I've found one common thread, which is quite alarming. Before you go any further, it has to do with bots and search engines, so if you're not interested in either, you can probably safely skip this post.

The next article I'll be writing (Sunday night probably) will finally be on using those templates that I had mentioned in an earlier post, to create a basic Web site.

Google Page Creator and layouts (and CF 7)

I got my Google Page Creator invite a short time ago, and just setup my account (less than 2 minutes ago, as of this writing).
I haven't had much time to play around with it, obviously, but I'm impressed by the sample layouts they have. I might actually bounce around a little bit, until I find one that I can make my own.

In a future tutorial I'll be walking through the setup of a database using PHP and MySQL (and possibly in the future, PHP and PostgreSQL). To that end, I'm looking for database setup requests.

Tomorrow, I'll be posting the tutorial on setting up MySQL. However, for today, I won't be posting a new tutorial, as I've already spent the last hour writing one on setting up ColdFusion (which is the fourth tutorial I have to post, the MySQL one for tomorrow being the first).

Apache, PHP, MySQL, ColdFusion, and all the like

Near the end of the January, I talked about installing ColdFusion on my home computer. Starting this week (hopefully), I'll be writing a number of posts detailing how to go about doing these installations, with the express purpose of creating an environment for the testing of Web pages, or the learning of HTML/PHP/ColdFusion.
